Community standards

Voilà LOCAL is a quiet, slow, real platform. It works because everyone here treats it like a small town: with respect, restraint, and the assumption that the person on the other side of the screen is your neighbor — because they probably are.

What we expect

  • Use your real name and a real photo on consumer accounts.
  • Treat businesses, creators, affiliates, and other locals with civility.
  • Keep wishes and messages on-topic and free of harassment, hate speech, or threats.
  • Honor your claims — show up, redeem your code, and be a courteous customer.
  • Don't game the platform: no fake claims, no spam wishes, no automated tools.

Business conduct

Local businesses are the heart of Voilà LOCAL. We hold them to the same standards we hold the rest of our community to — plus a few specific to running deals.

Honest deals

  • Posted prices, spot counts, and time windows are binding when claimed in good faith.
  • If you cancel a deal that's already been claimed, refund or rebook — never ghost a claim.
  • No bait-and-switch: the deal you describe is the deal the consumer redeems.
  • Cancellation and refund policies must be visible on your business profile.

Honest content

  • Only post photos and copy you have the right to use.
  • Don't fabricate reviews, claim counts, or badges.
  • The Voilà LOCAL Verified badge is earned through a moderation review — it cannot be self-applied.

Content guidelines

Posts, deals, wishes, and creator content all flow through Voilà LOCAL. The guidelines below apply to anything you publish.

Allowed

  • Genuine local recommendations, deals, events, products, and creator picks.
  • Constructive responses to wishes, even if you can't fulfill them.
  • Honest reviews and feedback delivered without insult.

Not allowed

  • Adult content, gambling, weapons sales, illegal substances, MLM solicitations.
  • Doxxing, stalking, or revealing private information about other members.
  • Harassment, slurs, threats, or content targeting protected classes.
  • Off-platform redirects designed to circumvent Voilà LOCAL's claim flow.

Enforcement

Reports are reviewed by Jennifer personally. We aim to respond within 48 hours for the first message and resolve confirmed violations within 7 days. Outcomes:

  • Warning — first-time low-severity issues. We tell you what was wrong and how to fix it.
  • Content removal — for posts, deals, or wishes that violate the guidelines above.
  • Account suspension — for repeat or serious violations. The account is paused while we investigate.
  • Account termination — severe violations or persistent disregard of the policy. Refunds for unused subscription time are issued where applicable.

Reporting a violation

If you see something that breaks this policy, tell us. Reports are confidential — the person you reported is never told who reported them.

  • For safety emergencies (threats, doxxing, immediate physical danger), contact local emergency services first, then notify us.
